Face to Face Interpreting
Face-to-face interpreting allows you to work with members of the public whose first language is not English by appointment.
CINTRA or HITs are the agencies you will call whenever you want to book a face-to-face interpreter. CINTRA and HITs can access all languages required in the Eastern Region, providing you give them sufficient notice.
Book a face-to-face interpreter as soon as you know that your client requires one. Don't wait until the last day, if you know in advance!
In an emergency situation where life or liberty could be at risk, you can book an interpreter at any time, any day of the week. It is worth a try.
Please refer to the Service Provider Guide if you are unsure which of the two agencies below you should be contacting for this service.
Foreign Language interpreters are completely impartial and confidential. They are not responsible for what is being said at a meeting, only for conveying it accurately. Their job is to relay the information between the non-English speaker and the member of staff.
Foreign Language interpreters do not act on your behalf. You are the person in control.
