What type of interpreting?

Please note that deaf people and people who are hard-of-hearing will need a face-to-face interpreter or a lipspeaker.
The decision upon the use of an interpreter should be sensitive to the actual situation and best practice. As a basic principle, the more complex the communication, the more likely the need for face-to-face interpreting.
If you respond yes to any of these questions, book a face-to-face interpreter:
- Is the interview likely to be long?
- Is the communication going to be complex?
- Is the patient vulnerable?
- Are you going to disclose very sensitive information?
- Are you going to break bad news?
